Language Translation and Interpretation Studies

Certificate in Translation Studies

The Hunter Continuing Education Translation Studies Certificate prepares students with advanced foreign language proficiency to use acquired translation tools and skills in the global marketplace. Students gain the skills to succeed as translators for agencies, newspapers, magazines, law firms, the financial industry, and publishing companies while learning translation theory and applying various tools, methods, and approaches to translating multiple texts.

Program Information

  • Duration of the Program - The program consists of 6 courses; it takes 1 year to complete. The minimum passing grade is a B.
  • Requirements: - Fluency in both English and Spanish is needed, including strong writing skills in both languages. Students must take a placement test and pass an oral interview.
  • Tuition: - $4,200 plus one-time $25 registration fee.
  • Payment Plan: - Down payment of $1,565 + 7 payments of $380.
