Interviews with the IELI Faculty

The International English Language Institute (IELI) is part of Continuing Education Programs at Hunter College of the City University of New York (CUNY), offering courses in English as a Second Language (ESL) in the heart of Manhattan since 1950. The IELI serves thousands of students every year, from over 70 different countries, in courses ranging from Beginner English to Bridge-to-College Level English. We enroll New York City residents, visitors on tourist visas, diplomats, and international students with the aim to prepare students to enter American college or university and business situations by developing accuracy, fluency, and confidence.

IELI Program Information

We are part of Hunter College City University of New York (CUNY)
We will help children or adults if they would like to study abroad or travel;
We have been teaching English since 1950;
We are accredited by UCIEP;
Our classes are from beginner to advanced;
We will customize your·study schedule to suit your needs;
We have small class sizes -- only your family and friends.· Note:· we can also combine your group with others at reduced tuition;
